When Job was suffering, one of his friends, Eliphaz, tried to help him by reminding him of this truth about God: that “he sets on high those who are lowly, and those who mourn are lifted to safety.” Job’s friends weren’t always the best advisors, but Eliphaz’s words here are true: God does lift the lowly and comfort those who mourn.
