One of the most decorated student-athletes to ever walk the halls of Kent City High School! He is the defending Division 3 state champion in the 200 meters and placed 2nd last year in the 100 meter. He also finished in 4th place in the long jump. This year Gio won the long jump at the Grand Rapids Elite Invitational and has set a new career best with a jump of 21 feet, 8 and 3/4 inches! In football, Giovanni has led the Eagles to the playoffs the last 3 seasons and broke the school's single season and career rushing records with 1,645 and 3,725 yards respectively, and scored 57 touchdowns! The football team also claimed 3 straight CSAA Silver Conference Championships. A 3.87 student in the classroom, Gio is always looking to help the young student-athletes in Kent City by working at their camps, refereeing their games, and he even participated in a book drive for the elementary students during basketball season. Next year, Giovanni will attend Wheaton College in Illinois to play football.
