Avery was nominated by his head tennis coach, Shirley Walcot, who said Avery is so dedicated and a true student-athlete that you can count on as a coach! He is a 4.0 student in the classroom and plays #1 singles for the Wolves' boys tennis team. This season Avery finished in first place in the City of Wyoming Tri and at the David Bentley Invitational, and he also was named all-conference in the OK-Gold division! When not playing tennis, Avery also serves as drum major for the Wyoming Marching Band and participates on the boys golf and track teams. He also is an officer for the school's National Honor Society.
