A federal judge has blocked a Trump administration regulation that aimed to reduce prescription drug prices. The administration does not have the authority to require drug makers include their prices in television ads, U.S. District Judge Amit Mehta ruled in Washington, D.C. While President Donald Trump vowed to lower pharmaceutical prices last year amid public outcry, the judge's ruling came one day before the disclosure rule was set to go into effect. Drug makers fought the rule with a lawsuit in June. Why would politicians fix our immigration problems when they can campaign off the mess? Look at the immigration problem, at the issues on the border, at what lawmakers are doing in response and at the polling of what voters think. It looks like the fight might be more beneficial to the politicians than a solution would be. Mayor Sylvester Turner and the Houston City Council plan to renew the juvenile curfew ordinance and deliberate modifications to it. Council is scheduled to vote on the ordinance July 17 and have indicated it will not expire. A coalition of juvenile justice advocates is urging council to decriminalize the curfew and implement alternatives for youth safety in the ordinance. Decriminalizing the curfew would include the reduction of a criminal citation, fines, court process and fees.
