Jimmy Barrett and Shara Fryer take you through the stories that matter on the morning of 03/01/2019, including: Confidence in the media has hit rock bottom, with many news consumers believing that reporters file their reports before knowing the facts and 60 percent are under the impression that sources pay for stories, according to The Columbia Journalism Review Poll.
They wrote, "For decades, we’ve known that Americans don’t trust the press. What we haven’t known is how people view the makings of journalism, from the use of fact checkers and anonymous sources to the question of whether money skews journalistic decision-making.” The multi-billion dollar service portal PayPal is reportedly partnering with the leftist Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) to decide who should be black-listed from their company. The result is that the company is taking intentional steps to deny access to Conservatives. This is cause for concern in the Christian community, as the SPLC has taken a decidedly anti-Christian slant in recent years, targeting groups because they hold Biblical views about sexuality and life. Chase Bank may also be getting in on the act, as several high-profile Conservative groups claim their accounts have been suspended, including Enrique Tarrio, the black leader of Proud Boys, a group that has laughably been branded a white supremacist organization by liberals. Former Congressman Beto O’Rourke and former San Antonio Mayor Julian Castro have both been mentioned as possible Democratic presidential candidates (Castro is already in the race). But both have also been tapped as possible challengers to incumbent Senator John Cornyn in 2020. Actually, they can do both. It’s called the LBJ law — put in place in 1959 so Lyndon Baines Johnson, then the U.S. Senate majority leader, could run for re-election to the Senate at the same time he was on the Boston-to-Austin ticket behind John F. Kennedy. A terrifying video circulating the web is encouraging children to kill themselves. It's called the 'MoMo Challenge.' A creepy, bugged-eyed woman offers children instructions on how to take their own lives. The horrifying video has been infiltrating popular children sites like YouTube Kids. This bizarre cyber bullying challenge has been going on for years in various countries around the globe, but the MoMo Challenge seems to be having a resurgence.
