Stephanie Dua, BEGiN Co-Founder and President, is an education entrepreneur raising three
daughters, and leading the HOMER brand. She also heads customer acquisition, marketing,
learning, and company strategy. A simple request, “Mommy, can you help me learn to read?”
launched Stephanie into action, as she sought reading resources to implement at home and
found her options limited. Stephanie saw an opportunity to meet a real need within a dedicated
community, and HOMER was founded to be the leader in childhood education beyond the
classroom. Stephanie began her career at McKinsey & Company, followed by 15 years in public
education in the heart of New York. In her role as CEO of the Fund for Public Schools in New
York City, Stephanie raised more than $165 million to support literacy and teacher training
efforts in the country’s largest school district. A lifetime of pursuing her professional passions
has led Stephanie to her current role as Co-founder and President of HOMER
