All Stars are being announced, and of course the M's will get at least one obligatory player. Do you even care who it is? There was a point in time when the All Star game was a big deal, but those days are long gone. Not only has the exhibition game lost its excitement, but the game of baseball has as well, and much of that has to do with the complete lack of personality from most of its stars. We're getting closer day by day to the Husky football season. The Athletic's Christian Caple runs through it with us. How big of a step back to we expect the defense to take? There's less experience, but still a lot of talent. The NBA is considering reducing the number of games in the season, but more interestingly, changing the way the playoffs work, requiring seeds 5-8 to play in a play-in series. It's far too easy to make the playoffs now as it is. This new system would force teams to earn it.
