The late, great music icon grew up as a poor, blind, black young man in the segregated, Jim Crow-era South. And yet, one of the most popular recordings of "America, The Beautiful" was performed by Charles himself. The Jimi Hendrix rendition of the national anthem at Woodstock in 1969 is also sampled and discussed. Meanwhile, Nancy Pelosi and Joe Biden are putting prominent voices to the growing chorus fo those who want mask-wearing to be federally mandated. Biden promises he will enforce such a decree by executive order, if elected President.
