Welcome to the weekend edition of RiversZen Today for Saturday and Sunday, November 17th and 18th, 2018

News of the day: I was sitting here pondering the reasons why there are so few comments on cleaning up your diet. Is it too close to the holiday? Is it just too easy to eat the way you currently do? Does the thought of preparing food rather than just throwing a packaged meal in the microwave deter you? Are you so accustomed to eating out you can’t imagine really cooking a meal? You don’t need to take a huge amount of time to cook real food. One of the benefits of eating at home is it saves a lot of money compared to eating out. There are lots of simple alternatives. Start small. Just one change at a time. Maybe just start adding more veggies. According to the U. S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention only one in ten of us eat the daily recommended amount of fruits and veggies. Start small by adding one serving of veggies per meal or make a smoothie. Veggies provide fiber and water and help you feel full for very few calories. Let me hear your comments . . . good or bad . . . do you agree or disagree?
