"You have the power to decide what you wanna do, how much you wanna do it, when you wanna do it, where you wanna do it, and who you wanna do it with. The important thing is to find the one person in your life that you can trust."

About Dumbing it Down with Dave: You're listening to the fastest podcast on earth that's about pragmatism, truth, happiness, and the search for it all. I'm Dave Kanyan, a truck driver, husband, father, son, brother, friend, acquaintance, and probably not the best neighbor. I'll hold the door open for anyone. Don't rush; we've got plenty of time. Listen as I record my show from my car as I drive to and from work. We discuss everything and nothing, all at the same time. Enjoy your commute listening to me during my commute. Come along for the ride. I'll tell ya and ask you (nicely) how life oughta be. Thanks for listening!

“Fresh From Therapy”- everyone needs someone that they can talk to you, and get sound advice. Like you said, maybe getting a “yes man” to everything you say, is not 100% healthy or right. But they can’t negate your feelings at the same time. It may not be good to not acknowledge the feelings behind it. It could lead to the real root cause of the issue.... you’re absolutely right therapy is needed for most of us—. Real friendships should never “deplete” you. People giving their time in conversations, enjoying that time with you, whether on phone or in person, from my perspective should be enough. Maybe to take it a step further, having expectations of anyone, in order to keep them in your life, doesn’t sound right at all. That’s not healthy, or a positive way to go about looking at relationships. True friendships stay, because they want to, not because the checks and balances aren’t equaling out. My life’s “checkbook” doesn’t need to be net positive when it comes to friends- That’s just me, what I feel is “right” is probably different than most people’s “right” ... I wish you success with everything, and hope most people you have in your life only “replete” you, and never make you feel depletion...
