My special guest is Dr. Joyce Roland, Author of All That Glitters Is NOT Gold: Axioms, Adages and Idioms by which to Live, Love and Prosper. Dr. Joyce is a retired professor of nursing. She earned a Doctorate in Psychology, Masters of Science in Nursing, and is a Certified Nurse Educator. Dr. Joyce is a published author and poet since 2006. Dr. Joyce's work focuses on the health of African-American women and youth. Dr. Joyce shares the many challenges she faced as an African-American woman in education and how she was able to live life on her own terms taking the road less traveled.
