In This Episode:

Chen begins by offering up some of the reasons why she thinks the Ted Talk has gained so much popularity, as well as the range in people’s reactions to it.
“The whole purpose of a Ted Talk is to evoke conversation.”
She addresses the important role cultural context plays into our societal and personal definitions and reactions to ‘seduction’.
Flirtation being more than simply a way to get a date, but a “transfer of positive energy” between people.
Chen brings up her concerns about our business to constantly be selling things and selling ourselves and how this creates loss in human connection.
Lack of advertisements and material things in Cuba and the positive effects that has had on people’s ability to connect, help each other, and their own self-confidence.
“When did we start treating men and women like they’re flawed?”
Having the ability to tap into this place of ‘seduction’ is really resting on and promoting self-love.
In what other parts of our lives can this type of confidence lead to and help us?
Trying to better understand the mechanics of how we feel.
She brings forth some of the high divorce and affair rates in the world and closely relates this to how people get so busy and forget to invest in each other.
We still have the ability to create that excitement and fire—and the importance in making that an everyday thing.
Emphasises intuitions, feelings, and emotions instead of planning and pragmatism in relationships and life.
“Because it’s not perfect, there is something humane”.
What does a fulfilled life mean to Chen?
What is 1 thing all our listeners can do today that will have a massive positive effect on their lives?
