IN THIS EPISODE~ The death of Marine Private Martin Schrand is weird, mysterious, and unexplained.
And a few tried to tie Lee Oswald to this mysterious death in the wake of the Kennedy Assassination. Some even posit that it was Oswald's complicity in Schrand's murder on a Far Eastern Military Base~while Oswald himself was stationed nearby~ that allowed the CIA to "compromise" Oswald into conscription.
During the Warren Commission Proceedings, one ex-Marine even came forward to directly accuse Oswald of having a hand in Schrand's death.
We'll look at all of it: The circumstances of Schrand's mysterious death, the Military's "non-explanatory" investigation, and the tenuous-at-best attempts to link Oswald to the incident.
PLUS~ we'll follow up on a recently discovered~and published by Bart Kamp~document that proves that the FBI knew about the David Ferrie/Oswald connections WELL before Jack Martin dropped a dime to the NOLA D.A.'s office. Turns out, Researcher Ira David Wood III nailed down the source of the FBI's information years ago, and we're going to learn who was responsible for the tip.

In his HSCA interview Stout said, essentially, that he did not know where Oswald was when Schrand was shot, so why is he telling Armstrong something different? "He doubted if LFO had been involved with the guard section that included Schrand..."

Weisberg does not link Oswald to Schrand's death. In fact, he criticies Jenner (I think) for going that direction. Weisberg is concerned only with Oswald's clearance. The reporst do not say who was guarding the hanger, and it is not established that the U-2 was not in it. We are told (by Powers, I think) that the U-2 was in the hanger at the time, then later he changes his story and says that it was afterwards.

Schrand was not guarding the crypto van. He was guarding the truck area across the way from the crypto van. Weisberg focussed on the wrong thing here.

I seen a clip once of the guy who made Quantum Leap(tv show), he claimed he served with Oswald, heck he might have even been one of these guys mentioned.
