When we think about wellness at work, we automatically think about mental health, but in this mini-episode, Sophie dives into the physical side of wellness at work. As a certified yoga teacher and practitioner, Sophie talks about the strains that our bodies go through while at work, and how just aligning our posture and sitting correcting can have a huge impact on our well-being.
Sophie talks about rituals of winding our bodies down after work, getting ourselves prepared to relax, do exercise or cook dinner. All the things our bodies need to do after a full day's work. Sophie explains some of the things we can do to prepare ourselves for these so we can do it safely and set ourselves up the next day.
Nutrition is also a key factor of wellness within the workplace, as our bodies get tired and more slouched, we often find ourselves reaching for the fizzy drinks, or chocolate bars to help get us through those 2 pm slumps. Sophie discusses how culturally there needs to be more education on the fuel that our bodies really need to get us through the day.
