Luke 21 records Jesus' prophecy about the destruction of Jerusalem and his second coming. He warns his disciples about the coming tribulation and persecution they will face because of their faith. Jesus reminds them that the temple, which was considered the center of Jewish worship, would be destroyed. The disciples are also warned not to be deceived by those claiming to be the Messiah.
Jesus then talks about the signs that will precede his return, such as natural disasters, wars, and the spread of the gospel. He advises his disciples to remain alert and prepared for his coming. In a final illustration, Jesus encourages his followers to be like the faithful servant who manages his master's estate well, rather than being like the unfaithful servant who takes advantage of his master's absence.
