2 Peter 3 addresses the idea that some people may question or doubt the return of Jesus Christ. He reminds his readers that in the past, prophesies have been fulfilled, and just as God brought about the flood and the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, He will also bring about a day when the heavens and earth will be set ablaze for judgment. The author encourages his readers to be diligent in their faith, to live holy lives, and to wait patiently for the day of the Lord. He concludes by exhorting his readers to grow in their knowledge and grace, and to guard against the errors of false teachers.
