Today we are going to talk about one of the worst enemies of our planet: plastic pollution, a widespread problem that harms the natural environment and kills millions of animals every year.
The numbers are simply insane. According to National Geographic, more than 5 trillion pieces of plastic are currently floating in our oceans… and more than 70% of the beach litter is plastic. Water pollution caused by microplastics has multiplied by 10 in the last 40 years, affecting 86% of turtles, 44% of birds and 43% of marine mammals.
