The appearance of Jesus after the resurrection for forty days gives powerful witness that He is not only risen but is indeed – Alive. It is a witness to the immense power of God Himself available in you and for you and operating through you to carry out His purposes and do superabundantly greater than you can even think, hope, ask or imagine.
Jesus' post-resurrection appearances clearly prove He is absolute Sovereign over life and death. He is the creator of all things. (Colossians 1:16) Only He Who creates life can give life to the dead. He came to give His life for you to have eternal life in all its fullness with Him – overflowing abundant life hidden with Christ in God. (John 10:10, John 3:16, Colossians 3:3)
Through accepting God’s grace freely extended to you through Jesus, you gain His victory over sin, death, and all the power of the evil one. For you now live in union with Him, making you more than a victorious conqueror over the world, defeating all their spiritual authority and power because Greater is He who lives in you than he who is in the world. (Romans 8:1-2, Galatians 2:20, 1 John 5:4, 1 John 4:4)
