show moreWhen you say Jesus Christ, you are saying Jesus the Messiah, Who is the Passover Lamb sacrificed for you. (1 Corinthians 5:7). Matthew records the genealogy of Jesus the Messiah, saying Mary is the mother of Jesus, called Christ (the Messiah). (Matthew 1:16). Simon Peter proclaimed, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.” (Matthew 16:16).

The Jews of Jesus’ time looked for a political and cultural savior, not a Savior from sin. To us who believe Jesus is Lord and Savior, the proof that He is the Jewish Messiah is overwhelming. Isaiah 53 gives one of the most explicit prophecies identifying Jesus as the Messiah; it is the very passage that the Ethiopian eunuch read as Philip met him to reveal to Jesus (Acts 8:26–35).
