What if our longest war - the global war on terror that began in 2001- was a climate change disaster? This question we explore with the help of Professor Neta Crawford, Chair of Political Science at Boston University, and Co-Director of the Costs of War Project at Brown and Boston Universities. Through her research of military emissions, Professor Crawford found that throughout our “longest war,” the US military emitted over 1.2 billion metric tons of greenhouse gases, giving a whole new meaning to the anti-war chant, “No Blood for Oil!”
