In this episode we continue studying the book of Revelation chapter 12. In this study we conclude chapter 12 noting that the Dragon was angry with the woman and went to make war with the remnant of her seed because they keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ (Revelation 12:17).

We discover in verse 11 the saints were noted for overcoming the evil one by the word of their testimony, but in verse 17 they are noted for having the testimony of Jesus Christ.

The difference is, this is Jesus testifying on their behalf, He’s being a witness for them. He is acknowledging them before God and the angels as he said he would do or not do in the following text.

Luke 12:8  Also I say unto you, Whosoever shall confess me before men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God:

Luke 12:9  But he that denieth me before men shall be denied before the angels of God.

Because they confessed him before men he is now confessing them before God and the angels. If they had denied him he would deny them before God and the angels and they would not be allowed in heaven. Confessing him is based on obedience and not just a verbal confession.

Jesus mentions this in Matthew chapter 7, here's the text:

Matthew 7:21  Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Matthew 7:22  Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
Matthew 7:23  And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

It seems like we’ve made following Jesus and gaining admission into heaven a light hearted matter. But that is not so, following Jesus in life is serious business, therefore he says count the cost. Think about what you will lose if you try to follow Him and live like the people in the world. You will lose your reward of everlasting life and possibly suffer from the plagues that will come upon the world.

Revelation 18:4  And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.

It's not only that you know Him or heard about Him but that He knows you!
