Success as an artist takes work. It takes the dedicated ability to ask yourself difficult questions about your approach as an artist. Preparing for success means being ready to have honest conversations with yourself, determining what type of artist you want to be and who you should collaborate with to build your network. Gathering the right tribes and connections is also a key factor in positioning yourself for success.
In-order to achieve long-term success in the art business, relationships are key. College presents a unique opportunity to make the most of this time by immersing yourself in a safe and enriching environment full of resources and new people who can help you along the way. Taking risks and building relationships can open up opportunities that otherwise wouldn't exist. Even if you experience setbacks or failure, these experiences are just as important as successes in helping to reach the next level.
In this episode, Brian Sage recounts his own experience transitioning from student life to the professional world. He discusses how we can use collaboration to open up new possibilities and increase our career opportunities. He emphasizes the importance of working together with colleagues to help us grow and reach our goals in life.
