This week, my guest is American mystery writer Cara Black. Cara has written 20 books in her New York Times bestelling Aimée Leduc series, starring Aimée as a Paris-based private investigator. Last year, Cara decided venture away from PI Leduc to try her pen at something different, and wrote “Three Hours in Paris,” an historical thriller that begins with the fact that Hitler only spent three hours of his life in Paris, and imagines one possible, nail-biting reason why. Cara has been nominated for multiple Anthony and Macavity awards, and “Three Hours in Paris” has been nominated for the Dashiell Hammett prize. Cara’s books have been translated into seven different languages. Together, we discuss what she and Aimée have in common, what’s it’s like to go behind the scenes of the French police world, and what it was like to let another woman into her life.

About Us
Since well before Victor Hugo looked up at Notre Dame and thought, "Huh... what if a hunchback lived in there?" authors have been inspired by Paris. The Storytime in Paris podcast will help keep this tradition alive with short interviews and readings from your favorite contemporary authors with a French connection.

Every episode will feature five questions, asked by you, our authors' biggest fans, and answered live on air. Then, our authors will treat us to a reading of an excerpt from their book. Who knows? Maybe you'll even be inspired to write your own Great French Novel. Happy listening!
