Mel O’Doherty was shortlisted for the Francis MacManus Award in 2019. In 2020 he was shortlisted for the Seán Ó Faoláin International Short Story Award and longlisted for The Sunday Times Short Story Award. His stories have been published in Southword Literary Journal and The Irish Times and broadcast on RTÉ Radio. He is an English teacher by profession. Fallen is his debut novel and it is published by Bluemoose Books in June 2021. He lives in Douglas, Cork with his wife and three children.
