Relax the keyboard is off, the press box is closed, and the mic is getting warmed up as the Guardian of the Blue paint turned writer is about to enlighten us!!

The show where the writer is fresh off the presses and the ink is not dry for this week’s show “The Metropolitan Division: How will the Philadelphia Flyers Stack up”

Welcome to the Hockey Writers Ink, join Lance & Steel as we bring you all the latest on the Flyers!

First we break down the Flyers and the outlook for the 2022-2023 Season within the Metro.

Then we break down the rest of Metro and how it stacks against the Flyers:
1. Pittsburgh Penquines - Have resign Malkin and Letang and the coach – Looks like they are trying make one last run and with Kasperitious coming back as well as Jeff Carter, but potential loss in Rodriguez.
2. Columbus Blue Jackets - Have made some major moves with Johnny Hockey to say the least joining the fold along with resigning Laine to a long extension and bringing in Erik Gudbranson on D
3. Carolina Hurricanes - continues to just add and subtract players, yet they still remain relevant with the addition of Brent Burns and Paul Stastny. Also look for Jesperi Kotkaniemi to take a bigger bite of the apple this year at #2 center!
4. New Jersey Devils - Are still on the rebuild but with the drafting of the younger Hughes brother and hiring Sergei Brylin as Assistant coach NJD look to improve this year with young core of players coming back healthy.
5. New York Islanders - Have an interesting team, after letting Barry Trotz go last year, and then basically waiting until the last minute to resign a host of players in Romanov, Doobson and Bellows all inking deals on the same day
6. New York Rangers - Team was one step away from making it to the big dance and won the Division last year, will they have a letdown? Probably not after making Trouba Captain and agreeing to terms with C.J. Smith, Kaapo Kakko and Tim Gettinger not to mention Mr. Vezna Igor Shesterkin coming back for more!
7. Washington Capitals - Are able to keep most of the core and got a huge upgrade at goal with Darcy Kempur and looking to be dangerous this upcoming year. Plus, another year under Lavy!!
