show moreAt many D&D tables, you can have roleplaying present to tell your epic tale, but is the roleplaying what is REALLY changing the game? Is there intrigue, plotting, social conflict, in-depth character and player interactions that go beyond the surface level “heroes journey” that many D&D tales like to tell?
So that begs to ask the question… if you want to play a more RP-focused story, should you consider other TTRPGs to help supplement your story? Or can you play a long-term D&D campaign that is alllll about the story-telling, the social intrigue, and roleplaying elements?
George and I discuss how our "Waterdeep Noble" D&D campaign takes on a more social intrigue type of gameplay and how we've made it work for our group.
