Nicola J Rowley trained as a Journalist and began her career in local radio before becoming a Reporter/ Newsreader on Radio 1 reading the news for the likes of Chris Moyles and Sara Cox. With a passion for communicating, she soon began working in Television, working predominantly as a Producer/Reporter for the BBC News Channel, and covering events for BBC Two, BBC World and as an Entertainment Reporter for BBC Three.

A career in Communications beckoned and she worked both in agency and in-house for more than a decade on some of the UK’s most successful stunts, campaigns and launches. She has launched numerous TV channels, leading to multi-award-winning success including SABRE Award Europe (Gold Winner) Best PR Campaign (The Guardian MAA Awards) and Best Experiential Campaign (Drum Marketing Awards, Highly Commended). She then gained international experience working for BBC Studios, overseeing high-profile global programme launches across Africa, the Middle East and Central and Eastern Europe. More recently, she was the Head of PR at Thorpe Park, where she devised and oversaw the most successful Fright Nights season in the theme park’s history.

In January of 2019, Nicola launched her Communications Agency, NJRPR. She now helps female entrepreneurs and brands in the entertainment and leisure industries get noticed through strategic PR storytelling. Alongside the agency, she also runs the Working Mum Association, a global community of 60,000+ women, providing them with additional support, inspiration, and motivation. Nicola is also a multi-award-winning Children’s Author, and has published two picture books, James and the Amazing Gift and James and the Birthday Balloon (the audiobook of which was narrated by TV’s Dr Ranj). Nicola’s first children’s chapter book called Mug the Wumph the Dancing Wizard, based on a character her dad created for her when she was nine, became an Amazon UK number one bestseller when it launched during lockdown.

Nicola lives in Surrey with her husband and six-year-old son, James.
