Our Scripture texts today are Nehemiah 4.1-23 and James 2.14-26 from part six of the Leadership Series. Today's lesson is "Good Leaders Overcome Opposition." Blessings!
How do we deal with this opposition? Do we just quit? Do we power through with brute strength? Do we become passive and say, “God, You handle it and let me know when You are done?” What do we do? Let’s learn from Nehemiah.
1. Good leaders overcome opposition by praying first. (vv1-6)
2. Good leaders overcome opposition by doing their part. (vv7-15)
3. Good leaders overcome opposition by trusting God to do His part. (vv16-23)
When all three of these are aligned, we have power in Jesus’ name. We are overcomers and more than conquerors when we pray, do, and trust! So, the next time you face great opposition, don’t fret. Use the Nehemiah formula. Pray first. Get guidance from God. Second, obey God and do your part. He will take care of the consequences. Third, trust God to do what you cannot do. He will do His part.
Pray! Do! Trust!
