Scripture Texts are Psalm 37.1-7 and Matthew 6.25-34 from the subject, “Get Your Priorities in Order.”
How do you prioritize your time? In which quadrant do you spend most of your time? Which quadrant is God in?
•The not urgent and not important. (Distraction quadrant)
•The urgent but not important. (Interruption quadrant)
•The not urgent but important. (Focus quadrant)
•The urgent and important. (Stress quadrant)
How do we spend the bulk of our time in the not urgent but important quadrant? What does Christ mean by seeking first the kingdom of God and His righteousness? Here are 5 suggestions.
•Take everything, I mean every situation to the LORD in prayer first.
•We deepen our prayer life by praying privately, publicly, and corporately.
•Attend and participate in regular worship with other Christians.
•Attend Bible Study and/or Sunday school.
•Practice spiritual disciplines such as fasting, meditation, solitude, and silence
You see, when you and I spend significant time with Father in the not urgent but important, we are better able to cope with the urgent and important situations that will arise.
