This chapter opens with several miracles of Elisha, but closes with the story of Samaria being besieged by Syria as a judgement from God for Israel's wickedness; particularly that of her king. Two mothers plead to the king of Israel for help arbitrating the case wherein one mother suggested to the other that they eat their sons. The second mother agreed and afterwards the first mother hid her son. So tThe king of Israel dispatches an emissary to behead Elisha.
