After many years of kindness and council to king Joas, Jodae the priest died. And when Juda went astray his son, Azarias rebuked them in the name of the Lord. Forgetting the kindness of his father, king Joas kills the son of Jodae and the people buried Jodae the priest with the kings in honor, and king Joas in dishonor among the people in the city of David.
