Welcome to Our Arctic Presence. In this first episode hosts Enni Similä and Deenaalee Hodgdon sit down with special guest Rosa-Máren Magga of the Indigenous Peoples’ Secretariat to discuss the inception of the Arctic Council. Through one on one and roundtable interviews with the Indigenous Leaders that were present in those early years, we weave together the tapestry of how this intergovernmental forum became the only stage in the world to include Indigenous Peoples at the table and make decisions through consensus.
