Gentle strength has a lot of meaning to me. At the beginning of my career, after being disillusioned with what I experienced in the workplace, I first believed a lie that the two words cannot stand side by side in one sentence. That this is paradoxical. My pendulum first turned to controlling to try and adjust, until I could align myself with the word of God and how it could make it practical in the workplace by being “true to myself”. For me it is: · Gentleness: the way I hold my own heart and other people's hearts as I engage with them · Strength: for me, it is equivalent to an endurance to finish the race in front of you. What does this mean for me in my life? To live - · Authentic to my values (stewardship, obedience and continuous learning) · With endurance · In obedience - And to build people, as I go My story: My disillusionment and then my attempt to control everything to gain authority. until I became comfortable in who I am and what I bring and bring in vulnerability and sincerity. Really learned a lot about bravery, about vulnerability and empathy. I also "hid" parts of myself for a long time because it made me feel safer. I call the journey “courage to be seen”. And also not to feel in suffering you throw away your entire testimony, but to “suffer well” because people learn from us as we continue to live in faith, even if things seem difficult. Daily statements for me: · I am free to be myself - ie I do not have to be what people expect of me. Audience of 1 - I'm good enough - with courage and vulnerability I can bring my whole self to every situation, it's a gift. · I have been chosen - to live with the knowledge that I am purposefully planted where I am now and make the most of it. These statements help me to live free and free of lies; to bring myself daily and endure year in and year out.
