In today's #coffeewithatherapist, we are talking all about type two of the enneagram in relationships. Type 2's in love: As a Helper type, you tend to focus more on others than you do on yourself, and romantically, you need someone who can remind you that YOU matter, too.

As someone who feels insecure about other people not listening to you as much as you might listen to them, you also need someone who will reassure you that you're interesting and is a good listener. You may also over-function for your partner and not realizing that when you do, that you aren't giving them the space to learn or do for themselves.

You'll also need to learn how to focus inward and be what might feel "selfish" or "frivolous" in your relationships. Spending that time refueling you will be one of the most loving things you can do for your partners. Although you will likely struggle to identify your OWN needs since you are often focusing on the needs of others, and self-care for you looks more like taking things off of your plate and doing less.
