We’re doing something a little different this episode. With our generations child hood shows like Blues clues, and little bear and of course our children’s favorite shows is only right that the generation today gets to experience what may be considered classics. Let’s get into an all time favorite for our kids, Dora. Doesn’t matter if you’re a boy mom or a girl mom we can all sing along to Dora the explorer theme song, feel accomplished when finding a clue, stopping swiper from swiping and of course learning Spanish along the way. Nickelodeon first debuted the show back in August 2000 and out of curiosity for the generation that grew up with Dora what can be next for the adventurous exploring Dora and her best friend boots.
With a release set for August 9th Dora who is now not only a TV character, but also a “cultural icon with global appeal” is taking the big screen in a whole new way. As Isabela Moner who plays 16 year old Dora in Dora and the lost city of Gold takes the lead in bringing Dora to life in this live action film but also faces one of her biggest challenges ,high school. The film directed by James Bobbin not only kept the feel of Dora the explorer , but brought new light on how she ventures through high school and rescuing her parents in the Amazon jungle from treacherous treasure hunters. With humor , adventure, courage, and even lessons for our children to takeaway this film is great for both boys and girls and even parents too. I took my two boys and their best friend and they laughed and enjoyed the adventure, both in the Amazon jungle and the high school “jungle.” Even after the movie they talked about their favorite parts. When i told them i had the opportunity to sit down with Isabela Moner who plays Dora along with Eugenio Debrez who not only executive produced the film, but is also a part of the cast they were excited and wanted to know if they could meet another member of the cast who could hold his breath for 7 mins lol. Dora and the list city of Gold is set to hit theaters on August 9th is rated PG for action and some impolite humor. Here’s their behind the scenes take on the production of Dora and the lost city of Gold.
