Michael Collins was the most famous American in Rome, or rather he was a Roman by birth. His father, a United States Army Major General, was stationed in Rome where Michael was born in 1930.

After graduating from the famous U.S. Military Academy at West Point, he attended the Harvard Business School and then joined the Air Force to become a test pilot. In 1963 he was chosen by NASA to become an astronaut. His first flight was as pilot of Gemini 10. The mission marked Collins as the first NASA astronaut to perform two spacewalks in a single mission.

Look up is the podcast of the Italian Space Agency that tells the characters and exploits of the great space adventure.
