The principles of Blue Zone living include:

1. Focus on the family
2. Nonsmoking
3. Plant heavy diet
4. Constant moderate physical activity
5. Ate a lot of legumes
6. Have a purpose in life.
7. Downshift your life.
8. 80% rule - stop eating when your 80% full.
9. Plant slant - eat more plant based meals.
10. Wine at 5 - one glass of wine a day
11. Right tribe - surround yourself with good community.
12. Invest in friends and family.
