During a zoom conference speech this week, Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey compared the violence and riots that have swept this country after the killing of George Floyd to a forest fire that would add in new growth. During her talk, Healey described racism as a value that is “embedded” in the United States and said “Yes, America is burning. But that’s how forests grow.” Was this a tone-deaf comment or accurate?
