On last week we examined John 14-16 in discussing the Messianic temple of the Lord. We pointed out the Old Covenant background of the Temple typology in John 14. It is the house of God of Isaiah and the kingdom of Zechariah 6:12-13, and Daniel 2:44-45. Isaiah 28 and 1 Peter spoke of the foundation stone. We also pointed out some word studies on Coming again, prepared, the living quarters of the priests in the temple of God expressed as the abiding places and the use of mello in John 14:22 which states Christ was about to manifest himself to the apostles after his going away,


These and the little while, great tribulaton motif of John 14 were overlooked by Gary Summers in his Bellview lectures. We also showed how the Messianic Temple of John was a house not made with hands and came down out of heaven per Revelaton 21:1-3.
