Treating Problem Drug Use
Suzi Gage interviews Thomas Clausen, Head of the Norwegian centre for addiction research, University of Oslo, and Ivar Skeie, Chief physician and researcher in addiction medicine at Innlandet Hospital Trust Gjoevik, Norway. They talk about the many different characteristics of persons with addiction, including those who want to stop drug-use altogether, those with co-morbid problems and those cannot stop but do want to reduce adverse effects associated with drug use. They explain how flexible treatment options can and should meet the varied needs of all these people.
