1 OCT 2021 · We're giving it to you straight in this episode. Burnell and I cover some interesting ideas on Pan-Africanism. Burnell then clarifies the reason behind a few misconceptions between Africans and Black-Americans. Lastly, we stress the importance of building our communities through economics and what exactly we as the diaspora could do to help elevate our communities inside and outside of Africa. Thank you all for watching!
23 SEP 2021 · After about 4 failed attempts, Helena and I were finally able to record the 7th chapter of the Umoja Journal. I had the pleasure of sitting down and speaking with Helena. Born in Burundi but originally from Congo, Helena and her brothers were moved to Denmark by their dad and they've been there for a little over 21 years. We discuss her experience growing up in Denmark and being educated through the Danish system. Also, how being part of a small African community there has shaped her thoughts, feelings, and long-term goals for when she returns to Congo. Big thank you to those who are listening!
7 AUG 2021 · It's been a long time coming! I apologize for uploading this video so late everyone. I was having uploading issues because of the internet in TZ. I also apologize for saying episode 5 in the audio when this is actually episode 6. Thank you all in advance for your patience and listening to me and Bobby give our observations on people, dating, and taboo subjects here in Dar es Salaam.
18 JUN 2021 · Traveling is nice. It's nicer when you're able to share your experience with people and relate to some of the feelings, fears, and situations that they've gone through as well. This episode of the podcast talks about exactly that. It's an impromptu discussion between myself, Dalton, and Adam. Dalton is Tanzanian but spent the majority of his life in the US, while Adam is from Croydon, England. For Adam and I, it's our first experience here. However, for Dalton, he's a little more seasoned when it comes to TZ. This makes for an interesting conversation about our similar and contrasting opinions about Tanzania and Africa in general. Thank you in advance to those who are listening!
10 JUN 2021 · Apologies for the abrupt ending to part 1. This is part 2 and the final portion of the episode with Mankaa. We go a little deeper into issues with photography in Tanzania and the challenges that photographers face from a woman's point of view.
10 JUN 2021 · Greetings everyone! This week's episode focuses on the story of Mankaa. A local Tanzanian woman who's an Engineer and Photographer. We cover her history, her goals for the future, and some of the issues that she faces as a career woman. Thanks for listening!
18 MAY 2021 · Hello everyone. This week, I had a chance to speak with Cynthianatasha. She's a self-published author, editor, and creative writer. We touched a lot on domestic violence and sexual assault in Nigeria. The stories that she shared with me really opened my eyes to how unsafe Nigeria can be for women. Cynthianatasha wants to shed more light on these issues which is why she wrote a book. She not only covers the issues but some solutions and considerable ideas that can change Nigeria for the better.
3 MAY 2021 · This week I had the pleasure of speaking with Sophia, all the way from the Netherlands. She's a brilliant and very sweet woman originally from Tanzania but relocated to Europe with her family. This kind of situation isn't always as easy as most people think and Sophia has had her trials and tribulations. However, she's managed to pull through and keep her sights set on her mission back home in Tanzania. Check out her story now. If you have any business or general inquiries about Sophia's housing project throughout Tanzania, you can contact her at Skajembe@yahoo.com. Thank you everyone for listening!Â
25 APR 2021 · Hello everyone and thank you for listening to The Umoja Brothers' first ever podcast. For the first episode, I had the pleasure of speaking with Cicely G. Cicely, explains who she is, her work, views on spirituality, and the importance of practicing good qi. As those are what she feels can be essential elements to a prosperous journey on this planet. She also explains her intentions on coming to the African continent, what she plans to do there, and how that's perceived by those around her.Â
