7 JUL 2022 · Allan and I, were waiting for a train to go from Chicago to NYC at this point we did not know each other. There was a Chinese guy running around the train station saying “I have to get on this train, I can not miss this train.” For about 30 minutes which was our train. I find out that he had a box in box and they will not let it on train because it was not taped up. So the Amtak lady taped it up. We got on train at  3pm this point we did not know each other. Approximately 8 people all sat by each other (Stef)  was one of them from NY and NJ area. We all talked and said where we are from and was telling jokes during the train ride. As we were joking and talking on the train, the Chinese guy was running back and forth in our car . As we approached Cleveland Ohio around 11pm, Allan had to go to the bathroom and overheard the train conductor’s conversation. As Allan opened the bathroom door, the bathroom reaked of marijuana. The Chinese guy was sitting with conductor across from from the bathroom being repremanded. Allan went back to his seat and told everyone who he had been talking with that someone was smoking marijuana in bathroom. I now heard the conversation and also began to laugh. We all laughed at the notion someone would smoke a joint in train bathroom. We all proceeded to go to sleep;As we woke up in the morning the conductor was on the PA system saying we are pulling into Buffalo,NY and homeland security would be checking ID's and we everyone in our train car would have to exit the train. As we pull into Buffalo we see Buffalo police, Amtrak police and Homeland security waiting for our train. We get off the train and Homeland security checked some ID's and we were allowed to get back on the train.   However, The Chinese guy was not allowed to get back on train. His luggage and box were removed from train. Our train pulled out of the station and we headed to Albany,New York.When we stopped in Albany, the conductor told us all what happened to the Chinese guy. The Chinese guy was arrested. The conductor goes on to say, the Chinese guy had a three pound brick of marijuana inside of the box. The man went from Illinois, Ohio, and into to New York. Which we were told by the conductor was a Federal offense 3 1/2 years ago. Before Allan And I got off train, we exchanged phone numbers and we kept in touch. Two years later, we came up with an idea to do a podcast show would feature comedy, everyday annoyances and political issues. As Allan (The G-Man) always says “ You can’t make this stuff up.”
