16 SEP 2024 · Friday, September 6, 2024 – In this episode, former The Final Word host Gabriela Ponte returns. She speaks with MusiCounts president Kristy Fletcher and music educator at one of the recipient schools, Michael Jameer. Fletcher were excited about the one million dollars awarded to 74 different schools across Canada, while Jameer explained what equipment he hopes to get for his students with the monetary award. Then, Dev Desai and Nicole Soroka join Ponte with two pieces of Toronto International Film Festival coverage.

Met Radio's Advertising & Sponsorship Coordinator and reporter Daniel Centeno covered Fan Expo this past week here in Toronto.  Fan Expo is Canada's largest comic, sci-fi and gaming convention, a perfect place for … cosplaying! Daniel spoke to some attendees about the art of cosplaying and what makes it so special for them. We also learned a bit more about this year's Toronto Metropolitan University's Freshman Orientation from Fernanda O'Neill, who's working with the Equity and Outreach team at TMU's Recreation department.

In today's episode host Mariana Schuetze spoke to Elizabeth McIsaac, President of Maytree, about the un/SHELTERED: Toronto Design Challenge, encouraging participants to come up with creative solutions to address the city's housing crisis. Mariana also spoke to Darren Greer, an author and multidisciplinary artist and clinical case manager at Alpha House Toronto, a mental health and addiction recovery community addressing the needs of men and non-binary people. Alpha House is putting together a fundraising event in September with a showcase of Darren's art.

28 AUG 2024 · Friday, August 2, 2024. Today's episode is all about climate initiatives. The City of Toronto announced this June the winners of the fourth annual Women4ClimateTO pitch competition. Ten local entrepreneurs pitched their climate-related initiatives to a panel of judges for a chance to claim the first prize of twenty thousand dollars and two secondary prizes of five thousand dollars each. Katherine Festeryga is the winner of this year's competition, with her project Edie Farming, which will happen right here in Toronto. The Final Word reporter Paula Zeballos spoke to Katherine about her win, Edie Farming and what got her started in climate activism.

Makeshift Company is a Toronto-based musical theatre company aiming to facilitate the expansion of the Canadian musical theatre canon by developing and deepening new works in the early stages of development. For this episode, The Final Word spoke to Ally Chozik, Makeshift's Artistic Director, Jessa Richer,  Makeshift's Associate Artistic Director and Josie Smith, who played Vera in When You Close Your Eyes.
