Yes, there was a long running radio serial that originally aired from 1942 to 1951 titled The Adventures of Superman. It featured the DC Comics character Superman. The serial came to radio as a syndicated show on New York City's WOR on February 12, 1940. On Mutual, it was broadcast from August 31, 1942, to February 4, 1949, as a 15-minute serial, running three or, usually, five times a week. From February 7 to June 24, 1949, it ran as a thrice-weekly half-hour show. The series shifted to ABC Saturday evenings on October 29, 1949, and then returned to afternoons twice a week on June 5, 1950, continuing on ABC until March 1, 1951. In all, 2,088 original episodes of The Adventures of Superman aired on American radio. Bud Collyer was famous in the roles of Clark Kent / Superman on radio and in animated cartoons, initially in theatrical short subjects and later on television. Growing up as a child I loved the cartoon Woody Woodpecker. I have a little golden book by Walter Lantz titled with “Woody Woodpecker at the Circus.” I loved watching the cartoons and hearing the laugh of Woody. I asked : How did they make Woody laugh like that?” He had a unique laugh like Porky Pig had a unique stutter. I remember Woody Woodpecker as a bird that was mischievous. There is a real woodpecker that comes around sometimes in my yard. As a child, I never thought I'd see a real one. The woodpecker had a knock loud enough that I could hear him with my windows closed. He put holes all the way up my pecan tree. I thought: That woodpecker got to go.” But there was one tree I was glad he peaked on some. The woodpecker had a powerful beak. When I hear that woodpecker, I think of the cartoon Woody Woodpecker. I remember the cartoon in the 70s where he was created in 1940 by Walter Lantz and appeared in theatrical short films and distributed by Universal Pictures between 1940 and 1972.

Today I'm going to play the cartoon “Mighty Mouse Wolf! Wolf!“ A pack of hungry wolves with one of them disguised as Little Bo Peep raids a flock of sheep and captures a little lamb. The wolves attempt to make lambchops out of the lamb but mighty mouse arrives to say the day. The cartoon is a 1945 cartoon. The cartoon character was created by Terrytoons and animation studio in New Rochelle, New York. They produced animated cartoons for theatrical release from 1929 to 1973 and briefly returned between 1987 and 1996 for television in name only. Terrytoons was founded by Paul Terry, Frank Mose, and Joseph Coffman. I hope you enjoy the cartoon mighty mouse Wolf! Wolf!

I remember seeing the Cool Ghoul on television in the 80’s everyday at 4:00 PM showing cartoons like Tom & Jerry. The Cool Ghoul was a popular radio and TV character and horror movie host in Cincinnati, Ohio created and portrayed by Dick Van Hoene. The Cool Ghoul was an icon of Cincinnati television radio and local pop culture for over decades. The Cool Ghoul’s origins date back to 1961, when Von Hoene worked on a WGPO (now WDBZ) radio show called “Bob Smith’s Monster Mash.” By 1969, Von Hoene had moved into television working at the fledging TV station WXIX-TV in Cincinnati. During the early 1970s, The Cool Ghoul hosted his own Saturday night horror movie show, Scream-In. In the early 1980s, Von Hoene took the Cool Ghoul to WCTI - TV in New Bern, NC earning a new generation of fans in the process. He sure did. I remember him well. and all the crazy sounds he made. Bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl.. BLEAAAHHH BLEAAAHHH Cool Ghoul made his own records. He had his own rock band known as the Grave Diggers. He was very successful with his talents. The Ghoul was loved. I remember him performing the Monster Mash. “ … And Suddenly to my surprise He did the Mash He did the Monster Mash The Monster Mash…” And I remember him playing a little tune in the background when he would talk showing cartoons. .. I guess I loved him too because I remember some of the things he did growing up. I never forgot him. Von Hoene passed away at age 63 on Feb. 4, 2004. He was buried at Spring Grove Cemetery Cincinnati. I’ll always remember him. He had some good affect on my childhood. I’m Gail Nobles. Tune in again next time for more.

It is an epic sword & sorcery film directed by John Milius and written by Milius and Oliver Stone. The Character Thulsa Doom was something else. He could act kind and turn around and kill you in an instant. James Earl Jones made the character and acting seem so real, although you knew you were watching a fantasy movie. The most creepy part of the movie was when Thulsa Doom slowly turned into a snake right in his clothes. His face began to change slowly, and you could see his head moving that was covered under his head covering, and his hands began to draw up into his sleeves. It was my first time seeing a face being morphed into something else like that. What made it so creepy was it was the face of James Earl Jones. And I’m wondering, “Wow! The director is Jaleel Sampay. The film reminds me of a mobster movie. It starts out with a man & woman entering a stonewall basement. There is a long hallway and a man with a 1940 machine gun blocking a doorway to enter into a room. In the room, they meet a group of men where they sit down and talk about a deal.
