We're starting off the show with one of our favorite songs:
"You Are the Sunshine of My Life" by Stevie Wonder as part of
a special thanks to all the disability advocates out there! We love you
Stevie!

"You Are The Sunshine Of My Life"

You are the sunshine of my life
That's why I'll always be around,
You are the apple of my eye,
Forever you'll stay in my heart

I feel like this is the beginning,
Though I've loved you for a million years,
And if I thought our love was ending,
I'd find myself drowning in my own tears

You are the sunshine of my life,
That's why I'll always stay around,
You are the apple of my eye,
Forever you'll stay in my heart

You must have known that I was lonely,
Because you came to my rescue,
And I know that this must be heaven,
How could so much love be inside of you?

You are the sunshine of my life, yeah,
That's why I'll always stay around,
You are the apple of my eye,
Forever you'll stay in my heart

[Background] Love has joined us,
Love has joined us,
Let's think sweet love

Up next is a song by Angryfish,
AKA Robin Sojourner, in the UK.

and particicularly like the lyrics: "We can use our sign language in
solidarity." You can view full song lyrics in our podcast description
and find our more about Angryfish's songs and history at www.angryfish.co.uk

And here it is..."Song of Two Halves"

Lyrics for "Song of Two Halves" by Angryfish

A Song of Two Halves
©Robin Surgeoner AKA Angryfish: Music & Lyrics

You can put us into half way houses
But we can chain ourselves to buses
You can provide day care centres
We can make ourselves a nuisance

You can benefit from testing out integrity
We can unite for our peace of mind
You can question our capacity
If I can hold yours you can hold mine

You can protest at our protestations
We can learn some simple sign language
You can claim its in the name of charity
We can use our sign language in solidarity

If you don’t like what you’re hearing
Then learn to understand what’s being said
Because we don’t need to bleed your system
We just want to move ahead

We can be happy – we can be sad
Take out our frustrations – and we can be bad
But give me opportunity to break my chains
Give me independence – then I’m born again

Living my life is all I want to do
To make love under the stars – to visit Clapham or Crewe
It doesn’t have to be a life less ordinary
Just a life where I have the choice to be me

Repeat last two verses

And once again that was Song of Two Halves by Angryfish.

Next up is "Kind and Generous" by Natalie Merchant and that
she truly is! Did you know that Ms. Merchant did a collaboration with
Perkins School for the The Blind at the Possibilities
Gala in 2009? You can find it on YouTube under the title:

Thank you for your advocacy Natalie. And thanks to our followers, sponsors,

"Kind & Generous"

You've been so kind and generous
I don't know how you keep on giving
For your kindness I'm in debt to you
For your selflessness, my admiration
And for everything you've done

You know I'm bound...
I'm bound to thank you for it

You've been so kind and generous
I don't know how you keep on giving
For your kindness I'm in debt to you
And I never could have come this far without you
So for everything you've done

You know I'm bound...
I'm bound to thank you for it

I want to thank you
For so many gifts
You gave with love and tenderness
I want to thank you

I want to thank you
For your generosity
The love and the honesty
That you gave me

I want to thank you
Show my gratitude
My love and my respect for you
I want to thank you

I want to...

Thank you
Thank you
Thank you
Thank you
Thank you
Thank you
