1 JUN 2024 · Mistress interviews a phenonomal death/thrash band called Beyond The Pale a female fronted band,Janneke and Johnny from the band gave me an awesome interview check them out on all social media Hailing from Utrecht, the Netherlands, Beyond The Pale emerged during the Covid-19 lockdowns in 2020. Drummer Johnny Derechos and guitarist Jeroen van Donselaar laid the foundation of the band, driven by a shared passion for the raw and intense energy of thrash and death metal. Little did they know, their journey would take a tragic turn that would forever shape the band's narrative. The omens seemed favorable enough during the early days. Janneke de Rooy, a seasoned death metal vocalist with a history in bands like Altar and Paper Doll Decay, and skilled bassist Frank van Boven (known from the Slayer tribute band Player and formerly Disquiet) were quick to join the ranks. The chemistry among the four musicians was undeniable, and soon after, Boudewijn de Kraaij brought his ferocious guitar skills to the lineup. Beyond The Pale's inception marked the beginning of a creative whirlwind, resulting in the six powerful songs that captured the essence of their collective musical vision. Their first live performance took place on King’s Day 2022 at dB’s in their hometown Utrecht, a night that would be etched in the band's history. As fate would have it, their debut show started as a magical celebration, but took an abrupt and tragic turn. Jeroen van Donselaar, one of the founding members and the band’s beloved friend, passed away on stage due to cardiac arrest. The band was devastated by the unimaginable loss. However, amidst the grief, they found strength in a shared determination to honor Jeroen's memory. Faced with adversity, Beyond The Pale unanimously decided to continue their musical journey, a testament to the resilience of the human spirit. With a renewed sense of purpose, the band welcomed guitarist Geoffrey Maas (formerly of Martyr) into their fold. The addition of Geoffrey marked a new chapter for Beyond The Pale, one driven by a desire to carry on the legacy that Jeroen had helped create. The band channeled their grief into their art, releasing their debut ‘Monument in Time’ as a poignant tribute to Jeroen's memory. Accompanied by powerful music videos, the EP serves as a cathartic expression of loss, resilience, and the unbreakable bonds forged through music. Beyond The Pale is now poised to take their energetic brand of thrashy death metal to global stages, fueled by the passion and commitment that has carried them through their darkest days. 25 MAY 2024 · Join Mistress as she interviews the Singer fro NJ Hardcore band Chokepoint and discusses Danzig Misfits Originating in South Plainfield, New Jersey the original riffs, lyrics, and ideas for Chokepoint’s debut EP began in 2017 when guitarist Anthony Frascino and vocalist Liam Glynn first met to jam. It wasn’t until early 2023 that Chris Papaleo and Tim Wilson (also of Against All) came in and brought the band from riffs to reality. Chokepoint has made it a mission to blend genres and cross the generational divide that is so evident in today’s hardcore scene. Chokepoint draws inspiration from some of the most innovative names in heavy music such as Folly, Walls of Jericho, Hatebreed, and Black Flag. With ear splitting riffs and socially conscious lyrics, Chokepoint provides music you can party and resonate with. SPHC is the first single off the upcoming EP Manifesto. The EP was recorded and mixed in Scranton, PA with Cliff Evans and Dr. Chud, formerly of the Misfits. Cliff has worked with notable acts such as Lifer, Breaking Benjamin, and K.C. and the sunshine band. Dr. Chud helped the band discover their own sound by lending his expertise in producing, recording, mixing and mastering. Chud is a veteran touring musician and producer having recorded several albums and done several tours with the Misfits he has gone on to work with Michale Graves, Doyle, and The Karens. The five track EP spans metalcore, modern hardcore and the original hardcore punk sound. Manifesto is truly a heavy album for the future generation. 13 APR 2024 · Metal Mistress C interviews Joe Booe Singer of Reign of Fire, ROF is a crossover progressive/hard rock/metal. We are completing a concept album based on a soldier wounded in battle, caught in the space between death and insanity. He is experiencing past lives through each song, and his story will come to resolution with the final song. We are releasing each song as they are completed, giving listeners the opportunity to experience the story one chapter (song) at a time.     All the members of the band are originally from the Chicago area. Singer Joe Booe and drummer Pete Bartolomei grew up together. Guitarist Rob Christman annd bass player Jim Davidge complete the lineup. All the band members have worked together in previous projects and bands. Reign of Fire was developed strictly as a recording project, but this one has a twist. This is a long distance file sharing project, as the singer lives in Florida and the rest of the band live in Nevada. In fact, Reign of Fire has never been in one place together since the beginning of the project. It’s all being accomplished through individual recording and file sharing. Everything is done by the band, all recording, engineering, mixing, mastering, and video are done by Reign of Fire.

All of our music is 100% original and our influences can be heard in everything we play, from Slayer to Pantera to Coal Chamber to Fear Factory and many more. We are making our mark locally in our home towns in the Dallas/Ft Worth area, and have started branching out to San Marcos, TX and Oklahoma. In 2024 we are working to melt faces in Louisiana, New Mexico and southern TX.
