Do you know what it feels like to belong, to be accepted for who you are? Have you ever wondered why disability is often left out of the equity conversation? Welcome to the “Human is My Label” Podcast with the Founder of RAPID and the owner of Purry Consultants, Emily Purry. A wife, mother, daughter, sibling, and former athlete, disability rights advocate, and someone legally blind, Emily is energizing personal and organizational change by helping people get comfortable, with the uncomfortable. Her passion about equity for all identities has fueled her commitment to normalize these conversations as Emily brings to life her own experiences to move forward together. Let’s get comfortable with the uncomfortable together.

Emily has a bachelor’s degree in psychology, a master’s degree in business management, and is a certified drug and alcohol counselor. She delivers presentations and training on equity and disability topics relevant to today’s business environment. The purpose of each presentation is to educate companies and organizations about equity and disability in a positive and productive way.

Legally blind herself, and the parent of a child with autism, she brings her personal and professional experiences to help move companies forward. Emily and her husband, Jamison, are raising three biracial children within an extended family that is inclusive of many diverse identities. Topics that Emily specializes in include accessibility, intersectionality, the Veteran experience, technology, and the world of ADA.
