This podcast series, created by the Halton Youth Initiative, is designed to share some Indigenous truth as one of the next steps in the journey towards truth and reconciliation in Canada. We will be discussing topics which lead to learning about the indigenous community and learning how Canada can do better in supporting them. We want to share our knowledge and spread awareness of the issues faced by indigenous communities and raise up Indigenous voices.

3 FEB 2021 · Halton Youth Initiative had a conversation with the MP of Milton, Adam Van Koverden, regarding current and prevalent social justice matters in the community. He touched upon topics such as systematic racism towards Indigenous people and the impact of the current pandemic on their communities. Tune in to learn about these ongoing concerns and ways to help the causes.
27 JAN 2021 · In this episode of Halton Youth Shares Indigenous Truth the host Julia speaks with 3 members of the Halton Youth initiative: Angela, Ashley, and Nishita. They speak about how they have been responding to the call to action #87 surrounding indigenous athletes. This episode gives listeners more insight into the world of sports for indigenous athletes and of the importance of focusing on such topics.
25 NOV 2020 · This episode touches on some steps toward reconciliation in our community as the hosts Ethan and Wardah talk with Federal MP Pam Damoff, representing her riding of Oakville North-Burlington. MP Damoff currently serves as the parliamentary secretary to the minister of Indigenous Services in Ottawa. We ask about her role involving politics and indigenous communities as well as engaging in conversation with a hope to shed light on many of these prevalent issues.
