With over two decades as a leader in education, she has worked in the classroom and in administration roles, including her time as principal for Hillsborough County Public Schools in Tampa, Florida. Glennis has won a number of awards including the Principal’s Leadership Award for the 2004-2005 school year.

She seeks to motivate teachers as well as students on the path toward systemic change. Glennis has taught in New Jersey and in Florida. She was a principal for Hillsborough County Public Schools, where she partnered with community organizations to secure internships, establish mentors, and create college skills support for students. Glennis currently teaches mathematics at the Village of Excellence Academy, where she is the lead teacher and instructs fourth graders in math and science.
