There Is A Certain Sadness In Our Home

There is a certain sadness in our home
You see someone here has gotten very old,
We do not know when the day will come that this person will no longer be around.
We do not have experience with this kind of thing,
so we wonder how are thing going to be.
How are going to handle it
I say with compassion and strength.
I'm speaking about my wife's mother
She has made it to 96 and time is running out for her
She is slow and now walks at the pace of a little snail
There is not energy left
To sail,
All this is too much for me
I'm not use to the emotion that I feel.
I do not like it, I must say
I'm accused and portrayed as
being a bad guy
You see I take MEDs and I do not always
Feel as much as another can
but that is not always true.
I'm stable and keep my moods in check.
What else can I say?
We do have some support
but no, too much
My wife is there for her
Every minute of the day and night
We will see how it all plays out
We have some big hurdle to jump through
soon or later it will be all over
Perhaps we should play some music by the master Beethoven.
My mother went through this when my father became sick
It took everything out of her,
And now it's our turn
These are experiences life throw at us
to balance the good times with the bad
This my friend is called true life.
I have lived with this person for over 20 years
She has been like a mother ot me
I know all of her stories
And learned a great deal
My life will move forward and I will carry a small part of her forward
Norma miller is her name and she still here for a longer
not ready just yet to call it quits.
